Boy in coma after abuse
South Dos Palos, CA, USA:

Merced Sun-Star Article

A boy is in critical condition at a hospital, with a coma, after abuse by his parents. The 4 year old with autism was beaten, burned, and bitten apparently by his mother. The mother is facing charges of attempted homicide, corporeal injury to a child, and battery and child endangerment, while the father is facing child endangerment charges, according to the article.

No wonder you've been waiting to post this recent batch of abuse. It's an assault just to read the headlines, let alone filter and process the articles, let alone to experience firsthand the actual abuse...

This is aweful. Coma is often a death sentence for someone old or disabled. I sure hope it's not in this case. This should get upgraded to "homicide" if anything were to happen. No sentencing yet I guess. I wonder what the charges will be. BTW, I'm Alfred on your blog. Please send me your RSS / feeds / accumulation sites etc. I'll try to help while I can. I'll be back on by end of June most likely.

Sometimes I think a "slashdot" for autistics would be a mighty fine site. It could cover abuses, medical scams, research and studies (the good/bad/ugly), advocacy spotlights, real autistics spotlights, and maybe links to other resources etc etc. I wish we could get more exposure for this. I wonder if I could repost this site on the main board and see if people could subscribe.

Hey, hope it's OK to leave a comment to submit a news item.

From my part of the world, Brisbane, Australia:
A TEENAGER who blamed his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder for a vicious attack on an autistic boy has had the conviction wiped from his record.

I hate adults who abuse children, ESPECIALLY those children who have disabilities. That just shows a sign that the mother is not ready to deal with the responsibility and stress of having children honestly, if my mother had done that to me, I would tell her everyday of her life, she shouldn't have had children.I would ask her "Why did you have children in the first place if you felt like doing that?" i would hope to make her feel terrible for her misbehavior. That mother who did this to her son should be punished severely. Yes , i feel very strongly being an autistic teenager myself
